Frequently Asked Questions
What are your minimums?
One is our minimum but that gets expensive, so normally folks go with 50 pieces.
What are your setup fees?
No setup fees — send us your camera-ready art and we are off to the races. Don’t have camera-ready art; we can make it for you for a small fee, typically $50.
Shipping charges and taxes (if applicable) are extra.
For lapel pins and metalwork there is a one-time die charge, that varies with the complexity of the design.
What can an iron-on emblem be applied to?
Most anything but waterproof and other coated fabrics can pose a challenge.
How do I apply an iron-on emblem to a garment?
Set your home iron to 350 degrees, cover the emblem with a thin piece of cloth, and apply the iron for 5 seconds pressing down as hard as you can. IF it does not stick go up in 5-second increments — the hotter it gets the more it could damage the fabric it is being applied to.
Do you apply emblems to other items?
It depends— we do sometimes apply emblems to hats. But not necessarily apparel because of the cost and risk of shipping the apparel.
What is the difference between a hot-needle cut and Merrow® border?
Hot-Needle cutting is when the border is stitched into the emblem (on the embroidery machine), commonly used in irregularly shaped emblems.
Merrow® which is more commonly know as surging or overlocking is sewn on after the emblem is embroidered to create a ravel-proof border.
What is the country of origin of your emblems?
We make emblems in the United States, Mexico, and China, just let us know your preference.
What is the maximum order size?
No maximums here, with owning and operating all three of our factories we have virtually unlimited capacity.
What are your color limitations?
None, but more than 12 colors and you better have deep pockets. We use Robison-Anton® polyester thread as our standard in the United States and FuFu® polyester thread for China but can embroidery in many other brands if need be.
24-48 hours can be done and is like UPS® overnight. Our everyday 20-25 standard delivery is like their ground service.
Can you meet our event date?
Event dates are our specialty, just make sure and let us know your order is for a dated event.
Do we drop-ship?
We can and we usually ship “Blind Label” in these situations.
What is your Hallmark #?
Our TIOH Hallmark is A35, which we have proudly held since 1941.
What are our prices?
It depends, lots of variables. We are extremely competitive and strive to provide a good valved emblem that meets our customer’s expectations delivered on time.
How do I communicate the colors I want if I don’t have a Pantone® book or thread color card?
You can use Crayola® Crayon color names to help us understand what color of thread you are looking for.
